Kensington Fields Community Centre

Kensington, known locally as “Kenny” is an inner city area of Liverpool in North West England. This was the first place I lived in when I moved to Liverpool in 2018. This work explores the concept of local community in Kensington and the spaces and traditions that bring people together.

The Community Centre quickly became the epicentre of this project and where I discovered the place that hosts the locals and brings people together. A space that celebrates, teaches, supports and nurtures anyone that chooses to walk through the doors. I’ve been to luncheons, bingo, afterschool club and a night of football that is sure to go down in the history books.

On 1st June 2019, Kensington Fields Community Centre hosted a screening of the UEFA Champions League Final, in which Liverpool played Tottenham Hotspur at the Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid, Spain. Liverpool won the final 2–0.
