This is a short film I made about a building that I used to live in, in London. Built in 1971, Ashington House is a five storey block of flats in Bethnal Green, London. I lived there for nearly two years and I was always fascinated by the building’s unique design. I was interested in the building as a multi-faceted construct, the idea that there are layers of both a physical, social and emotional nature.

With the help of my neighbours I explore how it feels to be in a space like this, the observations made and how our experiences and perceptions can shift as we move around the building, through the spaces that both separate us and bring us together.
